Background Information:
BHP Billiton's Mt Arthur Coal is the largest
individual coal production site in the NSW Hunter Valley. Located less than 5
kilometres from Muswellbrook, the mine produces around 20 million tonnes of
energy coal annually for local and international customers. With plans to
increase annual production to 24 million tonnes and as part of a leading global

opportunity for a self-motivated HR professional who wants to make a difference
in a results orientated environment. With over 1,600 employees on a single
site, as the Specialist - Human Resources, you will be part of a team of
professionals who enjoy delivering a broad range of generalist HR services to a
portfolio of departments, assisting them and the site to achieve and exceed
business objectives.
Reporting to the Manager Human Resources, this
role will allow you to contribute to a significant change phase across a wide
variety of HR projects. As a Specialist - Human Resources you will:

Assist
Managers with the interpretation of the Enterprise Agreement and employee
performance management issues;
·
Champion Organisational Effectiveness
activities throughout the business including Organisation Change Management
& Communications governance;
·
Providing HR expertise, guidance and advice
on people management, policies, remuneration and benefits;
·
Coaching and developing line managers to:
·
Enable
better decision making on people matters by compiling and analysing statistics;
·
Improve
their people management competencies, enabling them to take more accountability
for developing their workforce.
·
Support
the development and implementation of HR strategies and initiatives;
·
Maintain operational discipline in executing
1SAP processes.
The successful candidate will be a degree
qualified, career minded HR professional who is keen to be part of a team that
will make a difference. They should possess;
·
Broad experience
in a generalist HR role ideally in mining or heavy industry;
·
Solid
Industrial/Employee Relations experience;
·
A track
record of developing strong working relationships with stakeholders;
·
Strategic and organisational planning skills;
·
Exceptional communication and influencing
skills.
