 About the role
Boral Asphalt South Australia provides high quality asphalt and spray sealing products and contracting capabilities for large infrastructure projects, State and local government and civil construction, and is seeking a responsible, organised and experienced individual to join our team.
Reporting to the Contracting Supervisor, you will be responsible for direct management and supervision of an Asphalt paving crew operating out of the Plympton depot.
Duties/responsibilities
·             Primary responsibility for managing crew performance and productivity targets, including LAH and some weekend work,
·             Ensuring pavement quality meets Boral & customer requirements,
·             Ensuring that all accounting and quality assurance requirements are being met,
·             Representing the company in a positive manner to both the public and our customers and ensuring that crew behaviour meets company expectations,
·             Managing crew training requirements and ensuring that competencies are managed appropriately, and
·             Managing the HSE issues associated with the crew and that a safe work environment is provided on every work site.
Skills/experience
·             Knowledge and compliance to Dangerous Goods Act, EPA, Boral Asphalt and statutory HSE requirements,
·             Supervisory/Team Leader or management experience,
·             Commitment to workplace safety, quality, punctuality, reliability, respect of others and to work as part of an efficient team,
·             Experience in working with hot materials and commitment to working to production deadlines, and
·             Valid Drivers' Licence (MR or HR - highly regarded) and trade qualification or equivalent will be highly regarded.
·         Previous experience in the asphalt industry or other related civil construction fields will be well regarded; however, good interpersonal & communication skills, personal drive and good organisational skills are essential. A passion for operational improvement in the facets of safety, environment, quality and production along with the proven ability to manage successful teams would also be highly regarded.
