Background Information:

BHP Billiton Iron Ore is one of the world's leading suppliers of iron ore. The Company's operations comprise of an integrated system of seven inland mines, over 1,000 kilometres of rail and two separate port facilities; Nelson Point and Finucane Island at Port Hedland.
Position
Reporting to the Manager Studies within the Projects team, your duties will include:
·             Show leadership in applying BHP Billiton's Charter, Group Level Documents, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations;
·             Display an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development;
·             Integrates inputs from contributing Functions on behalf of Manager Studies or Lead Studies, who retain full accountability for the project\area scope, schedule and cost;
·             Monitors delivery of the project\area scope of work to ensure that deviations from the study plan are adequately managed and communicated and rectified;
·             Contributes to the identification and management of project\area risks, communicating risks to relevant stakeholders and identifying solutions;
·             Collaborate heavily with functional resources to obtain the required technical and commercial expertise, holding people accountable for deliverables;
·             Coordinates implementation of value improvement practices, tools & processes for the project\area scope of work;
·             Provides interface with Functions on behalf of one or more projects\areas, without assuming accountability for the deliverables, schedule or costs; and
·             Provides day to day task assignment for resources from the Functions, with whom they are integrating on behalf of the Manager Studies or Lead Studies, integrating the inputs from contributing functions and holding team members and assigned functional resources accountable for key deliverables.

Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will possess the following:
·             Professional qualifications related to Project Management, business, mining or engineering preferable;
·             experience in project management with a focus on project development;
·             Able to identify and administer techniques to plan, prioritise, organise and manage resources within a project's scope, time and budget which enable all study requirements to be fulfilled as efficiently and economically as possible;
·             Proven experience in planning and managing resources and stakeholders;
·             Excellent communication, influencing and negotiating skills with the ability to build credibility and trust across all levels with internal and external stakeholders; and
·             Analytical problem solving skills and business acumen;

Location
You will be based in Perth, Western Australia, in the multi award winning office tower – 'City Square'.  You will have stunning river views from your modern open plan office, state of the art facilities including virtual whiteboards and video conferencing facilities, 550 bicycle racks with ample lockers, showers and change room amenities and a large outdoor terrace with barbecues.
