The Finance team supports the operational effectiveness of the company. The
team is involved in analyzing financial figures, metrics and system and process
issues to support major decisions within the business. The key groups within
the Finance team include corporate and operational finance, internal teams
support, the controllers group, internal audit and risk advisory services,
taxation, treasury, corporate strategy and mergers and acquisitions.
Bell Canada’s Finance End-to-End team forms part of the overall finance
team reporting to the VP Finance Improvement and Controls within the controller
organization. The mission of the Finance End-to-End team is to leverage Bell’s
investment in its core financial systems, improve business processes, increase
operational efficiency and stimulate innovation. The team is accountable for
multiple process and systems improvement initiatives across the finance
organization.
The team’s main responsibilities are to optimize the company’s exploitation
of SAP and related financial systems, to review and improve financial processes
and governance and to address opportunities to resolve issues in the financial
and reporting processes.
Job Description:
This position reports to the associate director – Finance Improvements and
will be assigned to various initiatives across different areas of Finance. The
position will work closely with the Information Technology (IT) and Finance
Support teams, as well as the financial user community.
Duties and responsibilities:
The main responsibilities include:
– Supporting the associate director who is acting as the business analyst
and integration point between IT and the Finance community
– Documenting and/or reviewing reporting requirements and understanding the
magnitude of the proposed changes on upstream and downstream reporting systems
(SAP ECC, SAP BW, SAP BPC, etc.)
– Reviewing proposed system solutions to meet new reporting requirements,
and assessing the impact to Bell’s processes and financial data flows
– Actively participating in the definition, planning and execution of
testing, data validation, training and change management activities
– Support development activities when involving Excel or Visual Basic .
– Working with Bell IT and outsourcing resources to design and implement
system changes
Critical Qualifications/Competencies:
– 2+ years of experience in Financial Analysis, Consolidation, Planning
– University degree in Finance, Managed Information Systems or IT related
degree with a business option.
– Expertise in Microsoft Excel including Visual Basic programming.
– Knowledge of SAP systems: ECC (including CO-PA), BW, and Business Planning
and Consolidation (BPC) for NetWeaver toolset
– Ability to work with virtual teams
– Ability to handle multiple streams of work under pressure and meet tight
deadlines
– Analytical, meticulous and conscientious.
– Excellent problem solving skills
Preferred Qualifications/Competencies:
– Bilingual
– Experience with systems implementation and project lifecycle.
– Knowledge of financial consolidation accounting and/or consolidation
systems
– Strong organizational and planning skills
