Description: Serve as the technical focal
point for IMA’s NTD portfolio:
Duties: 1. Lead development and/or review of
IMA’s technical approaches and strategies for neglected tropical diseases.
2. Provide direct technical assistance to IMA’s field offices to develop
and implement NTD activities
3. Manage portfolio of NTD projects to ensure development of workplans,
budgets, and monitor pipelines.
4. Assist in the development and review of protocols for operations
research and facilitate multi-country studies on common themes and technical
areas;
5. Facilitate sharing of technical approaches, lessons learned and best
practices across several IMA countries.
6. Maintain liaison with the NTD partners, WHO, international
organizations, donor agencies, foundations, universities, and voluntary
organizations
7. Represent IMA at all NTD related meeting and events
8. Contribute to improved visibility of the IMA’s NTD portfolio through
abstracts and documentation of NTD activities and successes in technical briefs
9. Seek opportunities for dissemination of lessons learned, research,
publications, and other development of new business opportunities
10. Supervise staff as assigned.
Qualifications: 1. Graduate degree
in a health-related field with specialized training and/or experience relating
to neglected tropical diseases is required; physician, nurse, or pharmacist
qualification preferred.
2. Significant relevant experience in international public health with
experience in NTD programming in a developing country context is required.
3. Experience with NTD initiatives supported by bilateral agencies, such as
USAID or DFID, and international agencies, such as World Health Organization
and World Bank is required
4. Experience in program design, new business, and strategic partnerships
is preferred
5. Demonstrated competence to assess priorities and manage a variety of
activities in a time-sensitive environment and meet deadlines with attention to
detail and quality.
6. Excellent writing and presentation skills in English are essential.
7. Proficiency in French is preferred
8. Ability to travel internationally and domestically approximately 30% to
support the progress of program activities.
