In Queensland's Bowen Basin our asset BHP Billiton Mitsui Coal (BMC) is a
joint venture owned by BHP Billiton (80%) and Mitsui and Co (20%) which currently
operates the Poitrel & South Walker Creek mines.

About the role
Working across both South Walker Creek Mine and Poitrel Mine sites, we are
currently seeking an Environmental Specialist Execution, to provide compliance
monitoring and technical advice on mine environmental issues.
Reporting to the Principal Environment Execution, you will be largely
responsible for the following:

Controlling, monitoring and
participating in the execution of work that is the accountability of the
Environment function, utilising the 1SAP Work Management process where
required.

Assisting in maintaining a
compliant Environmental Management System.
·
Communicate identified
improvement opportunities to direct supervisor and support the deployment of
initiatives defined by the Planning and Improvement sub-function.
·
Participate in the execution of
the HSE system assurance program.
·
Management of specialist
environmental consultants and implementation of compliance requirements
About you
The successful applicant will need to be able to work autonomously, whilst
being a key part of a high performance team. You will have had experience at
the 'advisor' level in a previous position and have 2yrs post graduate
experience in such a position. It would be desirable for the successful
applicant to have had previous exposure with water management, ARCGIS and QLD
Environmental legislation.
You will be technically competent (compliance/ site legal) and be a sound
communicator. Mining experience or
previous experience in a consultancy are preferred and a degree
(Environmental/Science/Engineering) are required for this particular position.
