BACKGROUND:
Baylor College of Medicine Children's Foundation - Uganda (Baylor -Uganda) headquartered at Mulago hospital is a comprehensive HIV care and treatment organization that supports the treatment and care of HIV infected and affected Chidren and Adults. Baylor - Uganda has four operational areas; HlV/AIDS care treatment and prevention services, maternal child health services. Heatth Professional training and Oinical Research.
Based at the Head Office but spending 50% of the time in the regions
Role definition: To develop and monitor the implementation of systems. p06cies and procedures for aligning the adninistra1ion function to the directora1e mission and monitor the perlormance of the admnistration department in line with Baylor Uganda's mission
Key Result Areas:
1.Initiate develop and monitor the implementation of policies and s1andard operating guideooes for general administration. Fleet.,stock & Asset management. stores management and procurement in line with Saylor Uganda's mission.
2.Monitor the compliance of the Administration teams in all regions to HR systems and policies as well as conduct supervisory HR support activities to main1ain a competent & motivated Unit Leaders under the Department of Admnistration in line with the Human resources manual.
3.Periodically carry out Beet management auditing to review the reliability and integrity of the availed information & activities and make appropriate recommendations to curb the risks & strengthen the related controls in line with the Baylor Uganda's fleet management policy.
4.Develop service contracts/agreements for  outsourced services and regulatty monitor the performance of service providers to ensure that the contracts are respected in line with procurement policy and guidelines of Baylor Uganda and PPDA act.
5.Develop and monitor the impJementa~ion of the departmental ..... orit plans & budget Wl line with the financial guidelines and Organisation's mission.
6.Periodically cerry out Stores and assets auditing to review the reiability and integrity of stock and assets management information & aclivities aod make appropriate recommendations to curb the risks & strengthen the related con1rols in line with the Baylor Uganda's mission.
7.Develop a system for monitoring the imporbtion.. verification and quality issues relating to drugs and medical equipment in line with National Drug Authority.
8.Develop an departmental 'operation strategy based on holistic strategic thinking' and monitor its implementation through quarterly SSC in line with Baylor Uganda. strategic plan and various policies in administration department
9.Develop and monitor the implementation of a business continuity plan in line with Baylor Uganda mandate
10.Prepare a consolidated monthly and quarterly departmental performance reports as per the sa Departmental Balance Scorecard in line with the directorate mission
Qualifications & Job specifications:
The job holder should have:
 1. Master's Oegree Wl Business Administration plus professional qualifications in managementor Logistics Management. Procurement or Accounting.
Any legal related qualification or back ground (atmost a diploma in law) will be an added advantage
2. The candidate must have at least six (6) years working experience with three (3) years experience at senior management level in a reputable organization in a reputable Non Government Organisation
3. 35-45 years of age.
 4. Have Key personal oompetences in Team and communication skills, analytical skills. networking and partnership skills. Must be dynamic. Persuasive & convincing. selfmotivated and able to demonstrate high initiative.

Purpose of the job:
The General Manager shall have overall responsibility for the management of Citadelle Security.
The GM shall implement the Strategic Agenda and ensure sustained growth of the business and client satisfaction
Functions/Responsibilities/Experience:

·             Provision of leadership, vision and direction in management of Citadelle Buisness.
·             Responsible for the organization’s investments and management of balanced investment portfolio.
·             Responsible for the management, development and maintenance of a high performance team by providing good leadership and effective supervision and guidance of staff members under his/her charge.
·             Responsible for the organization’s financial planning, forecasting and budgeting.
·             Responsible for management of costs so as to achieve business growth as outlined in the strategic plan
·             Driving of Client liaison measures aimed at nurturing and retaining business.
·             Responsible for supporting decision making through preparation, analysis and presentation of comprehensive, timely, reliable and compliant financial reports.
·             Ensure effective implementation of financial and accounting policies and procedures.
·             Prepare and analyze on a regular basis the Citadelle’s business plans, budgetary estimates and provide explanations on variances.
·             Provide support to all other functions to enhance organizational goals.
·             Ensure proper planning and forecasting of Citadelle’s operations.
·             Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly reports on Citadelle‘s performance.
·             Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
·             Monitor company’s daily security operation
·             Any other duty as delegated by the Management.

·             Must have in-depth knowledge of security systems especially CCTV, Alarms, Access Control, and Electric fencing systems etc.
·             Must be a profit driven person and give priority to efficient service delivery.
·             Must possess excellent computer competencies.

NairoBits Trust has been in existence since 1999 and is registered as a Trust under the Laws of Kenya
with the aim of youth empowerment. Its target focus area is the youth from the informal settlement areas of Nairobi which constitutes 60% of the total population estimated at 7 million.

The Trust equips the youths with knowledge in Web Design, Information Technology skills, Creative Multimedia, Entrepreneurship and Sexual Reproductive Health. The Trust envisages a situation where 70% of the urban informal settlement youths access Information Communication Technology (ICT) skills that would improve their employability and ability to enter the labour market.

Nairobits Trust is seeking to recruit a General Manager based in Nairobi. The position is available immediately on a 1 year contract basis, renewable depending on performance.

General Manager Nairobits -Job Descriptions and Specifications

Job Title: General Manager

Position Responsible To: Board of Trustees
Position(s) Reporting to the Job: Management Team

Main Purpose of the Job:

To spearhead the strategic management process and give direction that ensures the organization achieves its goals and objectives.

Objectives:

    To ensure that organizational strategies and plans are formulated and implemented.
    To ensure effective and efficient mobilization and utilization of Nairobits Trust resources for achievement of its goals.
    To ensure a positive image of the organization.
    To ensure the financial sustainability of the organization

Key Responsibilities:
a) Act as secretary to the Board of trustees.
b) Work in liaison with the Nairobits Advisory Board and Nairobits Management Team
c) Keep abreast with changes in the ICT sector with regards to youth related issues
d) Provide strategic advice and guidance to the Board of Trustees to keep them a breast of the developments of the organization, organize Board of Trustees meetings in liaison with the chairman and ensure that Board minutes and papers are prepared on time and circulated as required.
e) Ensure the implementation of the Board of Trustees policy decisions and directives.
f) Ensure the development and implementation of Nairobits long and medium term strategies, goals and objectives.
g) Direct and supervise the work and resources of Nairobits Trust.
h) Ensure proper planning, follow up, implementation, evaluation effective and efficient co-ordination of the key activities.
i) Ensure the recruitment the required staff and types of well-motivated, trained and developed staff to ensure that the organization achieves its mission and objectives.
j) Prepare, gain acceptance, confidence of the donors through prudent management of the funded programmes and that sufficient human, financial material capital is secured.
k) Establish and maintain effective formal and informal links with donors, relevant agencies and other stakeholders and exchange information and views to ensure that the Nairobits is providing the appropriate range and quality of its services.
l) Develop and maintain programmes to ensure that Nairobits is effective and efficient as an organization and apply cost-effective methods and approaches and provide leading cutting-edge services.
m) Prepare and monitor the implementation of the annual budget to ensure that budget targets are met.
n) Develop and maintain an effective public relations strategy to promote the image of Nairobits among the Donors and the wider communication.
o) Represent the organization in negotiations with potential partners to secure the most effective contract terms of Nairobits Trust.
p) Develop and maintain working systems, procedures, policies, processes and result-oriented culture that encourages teamwork to ensure that Nairobits Trust is managed on a platform of best practices.
q) Explore options of Nairobits getting accreditation locally
r) Create linkages with Government
s) Ensure checks and balances in Nairobits Programmes

Job specifications:

Academic and Professional Qualifications:

A university graduate level of intellect, preferably with a higher degree in the management, business and development discipline. A relevant professional qualification will be an added advantage.

Skills and Attributes:


  •     Willingness and ability to relate with the youth, poor, vulnerable and the marginalised
  •     Ready to work in a dynamic environment
  •     A proven record of success in senior-level in the related industry.
  •     Sound knowledge of the industry, the development sector and the socio-economic and political situation in Kenya and demands of conflicting interests.
  •     Sound knowledge of organizational development to capacity building.
  •     An understanding of financial management and basic activity and wider management principles and techniques.
  •     Proven fundraising abilities and networking.
  •     Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated leadership and the ability to resolve conflicts.
  •     Excellent communication skills and the ability to speak and write English.
  •     Excellent organizational, analytical and problem solving skills.
  •     Good working knowledge of computers and computer applications.
  •     Willing to travel regularly including working harsh conditions.
  •     Be able to mentor and motivate junior staff

Working Experience:

At least 5 years of senior level experience in management of people, programmes, projects and resources.

    Knowledge of advanced computer applications is an added advantage
